# 9. Infrastructure System Engineer

*Nature of the tasks*

* Practical validation and implementation of the solutions recommended or designed by the Software or Infrastructure Architects
* Design, development, tests, documentation, release control, maintenance and technical support of infrastructure software components and services matching the specifications
* Proof of concept, prototyping of infrastructure solutions
* Technical responsibility for infrastructure development projects
* Assistance and support to Software Architects and Information System developers
* Provision of technical studies, technical expertise, technical evaluations in relation with Information Systems infrastructure
* Production of technical documentation
* Assistance with configuration of the system for production deployment and in training administrators and users
* Participation in meetings within the Commission

*Education* : EQF 6

* IT or relevant technical degree

*Specific expertise and technologies*

* Good knowledge of web applications, apps back-end applications, infrastructure script, or other development area, as required to perform the specified tasks
* Knowledge of Java (JEE), PHP, .Net or other technologies and/or frameworks required to perform the tasks. Depending on the positions, expertise in a specific software stack or application foundation (e.g. ColdFusion, Drupal, SharePoint) can be required
* Knowledge of relational database management
* Experience in component-based and service-oriented applications development or configuration
* Understanding modelling languages or tools (e.g. UML)

*Skills*

* Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments
* Technical redaction skills in English and/or French or the required language for that location of delivery
* Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communicator
