# 11. Operating System Deployment and update specialist

*Nature of the tasks*

* Design systems management solutions for an install base of more than 40k computers, more specifically:
  * design solutions for the secure deployment of operating systems to computers both on premise and via the cloud for remote workers
  * design solutions for quickly and securely patching systems both on premise and via the cloud for remote workers
  * In the event of continued remote working making sure the solutions don’t overload the existing network infrastructure
  * Integrate end point security solutions on computers
* IT Project management for Commission-wide workplace infrastructure projects
* Collaboration with other departments of the Commission

*Education* : EQF 7 any degree

 *Specific expertise and technologies*

* Client operating systems, Windows, Linux
* On premise Microsoft server technologies
* Cloud services (O365, Azure, AWS) mores specifically services related to systems management
* Remote working solution based on VPN or other technologies
* Directory, Authentication and federation protocols
* PKI and Encryption solutions

*Certification and/or Standards*

* Not applicable

*Skills*

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, to help develop creative and practical solutions
* Experience in managing ICT related Projects
* The ability to work in a proactive and independent manner, with a focus on priorities, communication and decision-making capacities
* Good organization, coordination and planning skills – with a high degree of drive and desire to empower ICT change and evolution
* Excellent communication skills, adaptable to

audiences ranging from senior management to technology specialists
