Lot 1: Standard external consultancy services in the field of information systems

Nature of the tasks

  • Design, engineering, testing, documentation, release control, maintenance, and technical support of Linux workstation environments

  • Design, engineering, testing, documentation, release control, maintenance, and technical support of lifecycle, security, and systems management solutions for Linux workstations

  • Proof of concept, prototyping of infrastructure solutions in the specific area of Linux workstations

  • Technical responsibility for infrastructure engineering projects

  • Provision of expert advice and assistance, technology watch, evaluation studies, architectural considerations, applicable standards, solution patterns, and best practices in the specific area of Linux workstations

  • Drafting of technical, operational, and user documentation

  • Assistance with training support staff and users

  • Participation in coordination, project, and operational meetings

Education : EQF 6

Specific expertise and technologies

  • Excellent knowledge of the Linux workstation distribution(s) used in the European Commission, including – but not limited to – system architecture, installation, configuration, maintenance, and support

  • Good knowledge of Linux package management

  • Good knowledge of Linux shell scripting

  • Knowledge of Python

  • Good knowledge of lifecycle, security, and systems management solutions for Linux workstations

  • Knowledge of networking technologies

Certification and/or Standards
